A TALE OF US
“A tale of us – a letter for me„ is a dance creation born from a poetry book of self-awareness written by Martina Di Giulio in 2022, premiered in May 2025 at the International TanzTage x Staatstheater Oldenburg
The choreography becomes a space of exploration through bodies and energies, unfolding as an intimate letter addressed to the self, the other, and the unknown.
Because what remains unsaid often carries the greatest power, Martina plays with language by saying everything and nothing at once — leaving a white page for those who wish to write their own story, free from labels.
Bodies move through questions rather than answers, navigating states of emptiness and fulfilment, presence and absence.
Identity is revealed as fluid and ever-changing — feminine and masculine, strength and vulnerability — while something essential remains constant: an inner light, a desire to move, to feel, to be.
Thank you to the amazing women who gave voice to my poetry;
they are the soundtrack of my piece
