FALL ING
CHOREOGRAPHy
The word falling holds many contradictions: holding and letting go, descending and rising, losing control and surrendering to it.
We fall from heights, into places, into love, out of love, into sleep, into memory.
This work gathers the many meanings contained within the word and translates them into a shared physical language.
Inside falling lives a quiet sense of nostalgia. Martina uses this space to grieve the end of a love story —
not only the loss itself, but the echo it leaves behind.
“Falling for you, with you — it wasn’t easy, but it was easy to learn you.”
Even what was not directly touching me still moved through me.
Anything you felt, I could feel too.
If you fall, I will feel it too.
It brought me back to peace and caos at the same time.
It wasn’t easy but I learned a lot. It wasn’t easy to learn.
But so easy
to learn you.
And I, sideways,
got the light without burning.
A place where the sun doesn’t shine directly, and indirectly,
yet I was the center.
